Live Healthy - August 2022

Someone recently asked how people stayed healthy before this modern age of fitness. The simple answer is that their very lifestyles produced healthfulness. For example, without the modern conveniences of cars, microwaves, and processed foods, people were more active and ate more whole foods. They often walked wherever they needed to go and thereby got the aerobic conditioning they needed. Their work habitually required more manual labor and was thereby a means of improving physical conditioning. Farming and raising their own foods enabled them to eat more healthfully as well. Although our lifestyles have changed, we can still take cues from the past by focusing more on making daily choices to live healthy.
