There are many benefits to having a workout partner. A partner can provide motivation, accountability, and even assist in your weight lifting and stretching routines. Another perk is that a training partner can make your workouts more fun. That being said, be careful not to get so busy talking with your partner that your exercise suffers. I've seen many 30 minute workouts take an hour because the friends got to talking rather than training. Another drawback is that when one partner slacks off it's easy for the other to do the same. Also, some people think they have to find a workout partner that has the same goals and abilities as they do, but this really isn't necessary. More important is finding someone who is consistent, whose schedule works with yours, and with whom you enjoy training. All in all, training with a friend is usually a great idea!
