"How many meals should I eat?" is one of the most common diet questions asked. General recommendations are to eat 4-6 times per day in order to keep metabolism steady, and hunger controlled. The most common suggestion is to eat 3 main meals and 2-3 additional snacks. Sometimes having snacks between meals results in a tendency to graze all day and thereby overeat. One way to combat that is to make all of your meals and snacks approximately the same size. Rather than 3 larger meals and a couple smaller snacks, have 4-6 moderate-size meals. This way every time you eat you're having enough food to maintain metabolism and provide satiety.
