Fit Tip #18

Disease Prevention - Dec 2017

80 perceny

Years ago one of my tips emphasized the value of the number 70% as the amount of disease that is preventable. That value is now estimated at around 80%. Why is this important? This value shows that our lifestyle choices are even more important as the key to avoiding or developing most diseases. Our decisions about whether or not to exercise, eat right, smoke, etc. are the major factors affecting our health. These are factors that we can control, so for the most part, we choose to be healthy or not. The tip this month is to encourage people to make wise lifestyle choices, and thereby see their disease risk decrease.
