The first component of fitness we'll look at is flexibility. Flexibility is defined as the capacity of a joint or muscle to move through its full range of motion. Flexibility is specific to a particular movement or joint, and the degree of flexibility can vary around the body.

Our flexibility impacts our lives in many ways. It affects our posture, how we walk and exercise, and our ability to live and move free from pain and limitations. There are numerous types of stretching that can improve flexibility, and research has even shown that strength training improves flexibility.

Make a point to stretch daily in order to maximize this valuable component of fitness!
