Fit Tip #80

Do a Little Angled Plank- August 2020

Strong core muscles are foundational to good posture and proper body mechanics. The plank exercise is a basic core exercise that has been shown to provide great benefits to the core muscles.

Angled Plank

Stand with good posture about 18 inches away from a countertop, in your kitchen for example. Tighten your abdominals and lean forward to place your hands on the countertop, keeping your arms straight. You may need to move your feet a little in order to keep your body in a straight line. Hold this angled plank position for 10 seconds, then press away from the countertop to stand upright again. Be sure to keep the core muscles tight the entire time.

Do a few reps every day, and as you become stronger, increase the amount of time you hold the angled plank.
